Halloween in Beacon
It's getting colder and darker, and we all need a bit of a pick-me-up. Luckily, here comes a bunch of Halloween fun to fill that candy-and-mischief hole in our lives! Beacon's city celebration happens on October 24th this year, so come on down for a whole lot of fun.
Black Cat Scavenger Hunt
11:00 AM to 6:00 PM on Main Street
Get a scavenger hunt passport from one of the businesses with a numbered pumpkin in the window, then try to find the black cat hidden inside each store. Every 15 stamps earns a prize that you can collect at one of these participating locations:
-
The Gate House Team at Compass, 490 Main Street
-
Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices Hudson Valley Properties, 226 Main Street
-
Corcoran Country Living, 215 Main Street
Businesses will also be open for trick-or-treating for anyone who needs to finish their candy raiding in time for early bedtime—or just wants bonus candy before residential trick-or-treating begins!
Hocus Pocus Parade
Meet at 2:30 PM at Polhill Park to get in formation for the annual Halloween Parade down Main Street. It's always fun to see what costumes people come up with—we have a lot of creative talent in town, and it really shines every year.
The parade starts around 3:00 PM and runs down most of Main Street. Near the end of the route, check out the First Responders Trunk or Treat at Veterans Place, which starts alongside the parade and runs until the candy runs out!

Vegan Trunk or Treat
Vegans have had a rough go in Beacon over the last few years with Trixie's coming and going, the demise of Vegetalien, and having to travel to Fishkill just to get Lick the Vegan Stuff. Halloween can be an especially tricky time for young vegans, so everyone should be thrilled about the Vegan Trunk or Treat being organized this year!
