Screening of the award-winning 2022 film, presented in Yiddish with English subtitles at the historic Ritz theatre. One day. One shot. A world about to disappear. A man returns from Kyiv to his shtetl to marry the woman he loves, but finds she is expected to marry an aspiring rabbi. Filmed in one unflinching shot, SHTTL captures a Jewish village in its final hours. A short live klezmer performance before the movie, followed by a post-screening Q&A with the star of SHTTL, Moshe Lobel (The Vigil, Unorthodox, High Maintenance). Brought to you by Klezmer on Hudson with the Yiddish Book Center, Jewish Federation of Greater Orange County, Jewish Federation of the Hudson Valley, CIMD, and Congregation Beth Hillel. $25 suggested donation per ticket.
