We are so excited to announce that The NIELDS are coming to Unicorn, on Friday, October 16th! @thenieldsband are a Massachusetts-based folk-rock band led by sisters Nerissa and Katryna Nields, whose exquisite harmonies, intelligent songwriting, and infectious live energy have made them beloved fixtures of the American folk and roots music scene for more than three decades. Formed in 1991, The Nields have released 21 albums and built a devoted audience through relentless touring, memorable songwriting, and a sound that blends folk, pop, ’60s rock, and ’90s alternative. Along the way, they’ve shared stages with James Taylor, The Band, 10,000 Maniacs, and the Indigo Girls, appeared at major folk festivals including Falcon Ridge, and earned praise from outlets including SPIN, The Washington Post, and Sing Out! From their early days as an acoustic trio to their evolution into a high-energy folk-rock band—and through more than 20 albums of music—the Nields have remained fiercely independent, prolific, and deeply committed to the power of a good song. 21 albums. 30+ years. Two sisters. One extraordinary body of work. Francesca Hoffman is a multi-instrumentalist, singer-songwriter and event producer based in Kingston, NY. A classically trained flutist and self-taught guitarist, ukulele player and percussionist, she has been writing songs since 2011 and recorded her debut EP, “Decade,” in 2020. In 2024 she released her first full-length LP, “The Aftermath.” Francesca’s songwriting draws inspiration from the Indigo Girls, Patty Griffin, Fleetwood Mac, the Secret Sisters and more. She describes her sound as “folk-pop” or “honest-rock,” as it features straightforward lyrics and an emphasis on counter-melodies and vocal harmonies. Her focus on universal topics of love, heartbreak and healing make her music especially relatable. -- FRI OCT 16 7PM DOORS 7:30PM SHOW $20 ADV / $25 DOOR
