Join Us for a Night of Live Music! Rafael Castillo-Halvorssen is a trumpeter, vocalist, composer, and bandleader based in New York City. A versatile musician, Rafael specializes in early jazz and ragtime. His band, the Rhythm Ruckus, plays for swing dances all over the city. He performs every Sunday evening at Caledonia Bar on the Upper West Side. Joining forces with him for Golden Hour Jazz is pianist and composer Benjamin Appel. He performs and composes for various large ensembles in the area, such as the Meeting House Jazz Orchestra and The New Rivertown Sound. Rafael and Benjamin have been collaborators for a decade and enjoy connecting with audiences through song and story.
