In 1843 Poe wrote a narrator who insists, at length and in detail, that he is not mad. He explains his reasoning. He describes his precautions. He is very calm about all of it. We gave that confession to three playwrights. Christopher Soucy, Jason Pizzarello and Shairi Engle each wrote a new piece from the same source. Same crime, same old man, same eye, same floor. Three different men come out the other end of it. Live acts run between the three confessions. They are not an intermission.
