Join us from 6:30-7:30 for an unforgettable evening of chamber music at the beautiful Beatrix Farrand Garden at Bellefield. If you wish, come early with your picnic baskets, lawn chairs, friends and family. (Some seating will be available for those who prefer a folding chair.) Parking and restrooms are available at the Wallace Visitor Center adjacent to the garden. The perfect evening at the end of a summer day filled with art, garden, and friends! Chamber music is often described as the most intimate form of classical performance, bringing together small ensembles whose musicians share equal artistic roles in creating a rich and engaging musical experience. Performed in the garden's unique setting, this concert offers audiences the opportunity to experience world-class musicians up close in a relaxed and inspiring outdoor environment. A special feature will be a pre-concert “kids-up-front” mini-concert at 5:45 by the Azcana Trio, curated to share the sounds, instruments, and tunes that will fascinate kids of all ages. If you have kids, come early and enjoy this fun show, sure to turn your kids into music lovers! At 6:30, you and your kids can move to a comfortable location in the garden so you can continue listening to extraordinary classical pieces in a relaxed garden space. This concert is free and will be a memorable experience for music lovers of all ages. Donations to the Beatrix Farrand Garden Assoc. are always welcome to support our community programming! Amadi Azikiwe, violinist, violist, and conductor, has appeared in recital in major cities throughout the United States, including New York, Boston, Cleveland, Chicago, San Francisco, Pittsburgh, Houston, Baltimore, and Washington, D.C., including a performance at the U.S. Supreme Court. He has been featured as a guest artist with the Chamber Music Society of Lincoln Center at Alice Tully Hall and at the Kennedy Center. Internationally, he has performed throughout Israel, Canada, South America, Central America, Nigeria, India, Japan, and Hong Kong. Cellist Amy Kang is actively involved in a broad spectrum of musical genres. Equally at home in concert halls and downtown venues, Amy performs as a classical chamber musician while also collaborating with contemporary Latin American and jazz ensembles. Her recent performances have taken her to Carnegie Hall and Jazz at Lincoln Center, as well as notable venues in Argentina, Japan, Panama, Poland, and South Korea. Amy earned a B.A. in English Literature from Columbia University and is also a visual artist. Her current creative project explores the relationship between music and color through a series of paintings inspired by Bach's Cello Suites. Pianist Jasmine Nagano, originally from Maui, has served as a staff collaborative pianist at both Interlochen Arts Camp and the Castleman Quartet Program. She received a Bachelor of Music in Piano Performance from Northwestern University's Bienen School of Music and a Master of Music in Keyboard Collaborative Arts from the University of Southern California Thornton School of Music. Jasmine is recognized for her versatility, artistry, and collaborative spirit, bringing depth and sensitivity to every performance. Together, the Azkana Trio combines exceptional musicianship, diverse artistic backgrounds, and a commitment to sharing the beauty of chamber music with audiences everywhere.
