On Saturday, August 29, 10 am to 5 pm, the Beatrix Farrand Garden will offer two free, simultaneous daytime events that will bring art into the garden! Visitors can enjoy a free day, strolling through the garden and watching multiple local artists giving LIVE DEMONSTRATIONS of their various artistic talents- painting, sketching, photography, and pottery. Garden visitors can observe the artists, ask questions, learn and enjoy – and are welcome to bring their own supplies and try their hand! Also, On August 29, BFGA will present a free ARTISTS IN THE GARDEN EXHIBITION featuring artwork created in or inspired by the Beatrix Farrand Garden. The free Exhibition will be open from 10 to 5 at the Wallace Center, adjacent to the Beatrix Farrand Garden. Works in the exhibit will include oil, acrylic, watercolor paintings, drawings, photography, pottery, and mixed media. Professional and amateur artists alike are encouraged to create and submit works they have completed in or have been inspired by the garden, by emailing an inquiry to Info@bfgahydepark.org<a>. The deadline for Exhibition submittals is Aug.15, 2026. The entire “Artists in the Garden” project is supported in part by Arts MidHudson, and in part by select, generous donors. The Garden is located on the Franklin D. Roosevelt National Historic Site, attached to the yellow Bellefield Mansion, 4097 Albany Post Road in Hyde Park. Free and accessible parking, café, and restrooms are available at the adjacent Wallace Center.
